Automatic hose reels in painted steel or AISI 304 stainless steel, series with adjustable arms. The automatic hose reel can be supplied without hose or fitted with the hose required for oil, antifreeze, grease, air and water at low and high pressure.
Automatic hose reels: series, sizes and how to choose
An automatic hose reel is a spring-driven drum that keeps the hose wound and rewinds it on its own when released. It is used in workshops and industry to keep the hose always wound up, protected and off the floor, saving space and preventing trips.
Automatic hose reel series
We work with three series, all in painted steel or AISI 304 stainless steel: the series with adjustable arms, the widest range of diameters and lengths; the enclosed series, compact and designed for 3/8" to 3/4" hoses; and the heavy-duty series, for 3/4" and 1" hose. Each model is defined by its inlet-outlet connection, the internal diameter of the swivel joint, the maximum hose diameter accepted, the maximum hose length and the maximum pressure.
| Series | Inlet-outlet connection | Hose | Max. length | Max. pressure |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Adjustable arms | M1/2" - F1/2" | 1/4" · 3/8" · 1/2" | 100 m | 600 bar / 200 bar |
| Adjustable arms | M1" - F1" | 3/4" · 1" | 50 m (3/4") · 30 m (1") | 100 bar |
| Adjustable arms | M1 1/2" - F1 1/2" | 1 1/4" · 1 1/2" | 20 m | 20 bar |
| Enclosed | M1/2" - F1/2" | 3/8" · 1/2" | 25 m (3/8") · 20 m (1/2") | 600 bar / 200 bar |
| Enclosed | M1" - F3/4" | 3/4" | 8 m | 100 bar |
| Heavy-duty | M1" - F1" | 3/4" · 1" | 30 m (3/4") · 25 m (1") | 100 bar |
On models with an M1/2" - F1/2" connection the maximum pressure is 600 or 200 bar depending on the model: in the enclosed series, 600 bar applies to painted steel and 200 bar to AISI 304 stainless steel.
Frequently asked questions about automatic hose reels
Is the automatic hose reel sold with a hose?
The enclosed and heavy-duty series are normally supplied without hose, so you choose it separately according to the fluid, diameter and length. The series with adjustable arms can come without hose or already fitted.
What is the HB hydraulic brake kit?
It is an optional, patented mechanism (patent no. 0001426967) that lets you adjust the hose rewind tension and prevents accidental high-speed rewinding. It is fitted to the reel on request.
What material are the parts in contact with the fluid?
On painted steel reels they are zinc-plated steel and, on request, they can be AISI 304 or AISI 316 stainless steel. On AISI 304 stainless steel reels they are AISI 304, with AISI 316 as an option.
Are there hose reels for ATEX areas?
Yes, the series with adjustable arms can be supplied on request with ATEX 2014/34/EU group II category 2 certification.
How is a hose reel installed?
It is fixed with its standard mounting or with a swivel bracket, available for reels up to 505 mm wide. A hose reel trolley is also available to move it around the workshop.
