How to choose an industrial hose
An industrial hose is chosen on five points: the fluid it will carry, the working pressure (and whether it works in delivery or in suction), the temperature, the inside diameter and the standards required by the sector, for example contact with food. At Tecniman we supply technical industrial hoses by the roll and cut to length, in low, medium and high pressure, in PVC, polyurethane, rubber, silicone, PTFE and composite.
Hoses by fluid
| Fluid or application | Where to find them |
|---|---|
| Water, irrigation and suction | Hoses for water, garden hoses and firefighter and fire protection hoses |
| Compressed air and pneumatics | Hoses for compressed air and pressure, pneumatic hoses and hoses for air and aeration |
| Hydraulic oil | Hydraulic hoses, high pressure hydraulic hoses and low pressure hydraulic hoses |
| Diesel, petrol and hydrocarbons | Hoses for hydrocarbons and composite type hoses |
| Food, milk, wine and drinks | Hoses for food products and silicone hoses for food use |
| Acids, solvents and chemicals | Hoses for chemical products and Teflon hoses (PTFE) |
| Steam and hot water | Hoses for steam and silicone hoses |
| Cement, sand and abrasives | Abrasion resistant hoses |
| Welding gases | Hoses for gases and welding: oxygen, acetylene and propane |
| Plant protection products | Hoses for fumigation |
Frequently asked questions about industrial hoses
What is the difference between a delivery hose and a suction hose?
A delivery hose works under internal pressure. A suction hose works under vacuum and has a rigid helix, in PVC or steel, which stops it from collapsing when sucking.
Which hose material should I choose?
PVC is light and economical for water and air at low pressure; rubber withstands hard use, pressure and temperature; polyurethane resists abrasion; silicone withstands high temperatures and hygienic use; PTFE and composite are for aggressive chemicals and hydrocarbons.
Do you sell hoses cut to length?
Yes, we supply hoses in full rolls and cut to length. Tell us the model, the inside diameter and the number of metres you need.
Which coupling do I need for my hose?
It depends on the coupling system of your installation and on the fluid. See our guide to connectors or ask us and we will recommend the coupling, the gasket and the clamp.
Where is Tecniman?
At Camino del Fus, 59, in Massanassa (Valencia). We have been distributing industrial hoses and couplings since 1982. You can make your enquiry or order through Contact and orders.
