Characteristics

API (American Petroleum Institute) fittings are manufactured under API RP-1004 standard. They withstand a working pressure of 10 bar and are used on fuel loading and unloading tankers to connect to bottom loading and unloading valve and drop elbow fittings (or composite hose fittings) and are usually part of bottom loading arms on storage terminals (in fuel storage facilities).
