Characteristics

The API (American Petroleum Institute) fittings are manufactured under API RP-1004 standard. They support a working pressure of 10 bar and are used on fuel loading and unloading tank trucks to connect to the bottom loading and unloading valve and drop elbow fittings (or composite hose fittings) and are generally part of the lower loading arms in the storage terminals (in fuel storage facilities).
